This month Martec have welcomed Sarah Nix into the team as Account Manger.
And so this week we are getting to know her a bit more…

Name: Sarah Nix

Position: Account Manager

What was your first job? I was a riding Instructor/guide at trekking centre in the Algarve, Portugal which I absolutely loved.

How did you get to where you are today? I started my career selling design and print.  This job allowed me to use my creative side, helping my customers choose the right corporate image for their business stationery.  I moved to the Events Industry as I loved international travel, meeting people and having a job where I was not tied to a desk.

After 5 years I become my own boss and became a Freelance Event Manager.  Through hard work and some lucky breaks I managed to find regular contracts with a number of different clients for 4 years.  Last year I worked on a project with Martec and ShowroomScout™ and very quickly realised what a friendly and people focused company Martec was. When Neil Pursell offered me the chance to apply for the role of Account Manager I jumped at the chance… The rest they say is history!

What was your first car? It was an old shaped Skoda in a beautiful shade of putty beige! Her nickname was ‘Speedy’ which she was anything but… A more accurate name would have been ‘hop-along’ as the fuel took so long to come through we used to bunny-hop down the road for the first part of every journey!

What are you looking forward to most working at Martec? I am really looking forward to becoming part of the team; sharing new ideas, learning new skills and helping my colleagues achieve our company targets and goals during 2010.

What are you working on at the moment? I am working on the launch of the new TelephoneSuccess™ Programme, which offers some fantastic new features, such as the new Dashboard from which you can see all the information that’s really important at a glance.

More than that, there are several added benefits such as;

  • The ability to identify, through Call Traffic Analysis,  your busy times for    incoming  sales calls which will allow you to arrange additional cover      where necessary
  • Record which customers showed up for their appointments and what sales  were made
  • Add, edit or remove your team members

What do you drive now? A Citroen C3.

Favourite car of all time? A Range Rover Vogue SE!

Interests and activities: My main hobby is showing my Rhodesian Ridgebacks at Championship Dog Shows all round the country and even into Europe. I also love horse riding, scuba diving, photography, travelling, eating out and spending time with family and friends.
